The sleeper


At midnight, in the month of June, 在六月的午夜

I stand beneath the mystic moon. 我站在神秘的月亮下

An opiate vapor, dewy, dim, 帶著露水微弱、迷幻的霧氣，
Exhales from out her golden rim, 從它黃金的輪廓中散發






And, softly dripping, drop by drop, 輕柔的水滴，慢慢滴落

Upon the quiet mountain top, 爬上寂靜山峰的頂端

Steals drowsily and musically 懶洋洋唱著歌偷偷

Into the universal valley. 進入了宇宙的山谷






The rosemary nods upon the grave; 迷迭香向墳墓搖擺

The lily lolls upon the wave; 百合花輕輕揮舞

Wrapping the fog about its breast, 濃霧包裹住它的胸膛

The ruin molders into rest; 毀滅腐爛的部分墜入長眠之中






Looking like Lethe, see! the lake 就像被遺忘，看啊！湖水

A conscious slumber seems to take, 意識的睡眠被

And would not, for the world, awake. 從這個世界上帶走






All Beauty sleeps!- and lo! where lies 所有美麗的沉睡者都將醒來！


The skace men dou ben till the sky.

Irene, with her Destinies! 和平女神和她的命運！






O, lady bright! can it be right- 美麗的女神！讓一切完美

The wanton airs, from the tree-top, 淫蕩的空氣，來自樹梢頂端

Laughingly through the lattice drop- 笑聲穿過格子落下






The bodiless airs, a wizard rout, 無軀體的空氣，巫師的盛宴

Flit through thy chamber in and out, 掠過你的房間，進進出出

And wave the curtain canopy 吹皺起蒼穹的帷幕

So fitfully- so fearfully- 斷斷續續，






 


Above the closed and fringed lid 在流蘇遮蔽的穹頂之上

´´Neath which thy slumb´´ring soul lies hid, 靈魂的謊言隱藏在催眠的雨後

That, over the floor and down the wall, 覆蓋了大地，衝垮了圍牆

Like ghosts the shadows rise and fall! 就像鬼魂的陰影在起起落落

Oh, lady dear, hast thou no fear? 愛人，你可曾嘎感到恐懼？

Soft may the worms about her creep! 當蠕蟲在她周圍爬動！


 

Far in the forest, dim and old, 遙遠的樹林，陰暗古老

For her may some tall vault unfold- 為她打開墓穴

Some vault that oft has flung its black 地下的靈堂投入黑色的懷抱

And winged panels fluttering back, 振翅回飛





Triumphant, over the crested palls, 勝利，跨過帶有頂飾的棺木

Of her grand family funerals- 豪華的家庭葬禮

Some sepulchre, remote, alone, 一些墳墓，偏遠孤獨

Against whose portal she hath thrown, 她被投進死亡的大門





In childhood, many an idle stone- 在童年，無用的寶石





Some tomb from out whose sounding door 來自一些墳墓的大門

She never shall force an echo more, 她無力回應

Thrilling to think, poor child of sin! 可怕的思想，罪惡之子

It was the dead who groaned within. 死亡在它內部呻吟
