If you are studying towards a BTEC or CTEC Level 3 qualification in another subject-area (e.g. Sport and Outdoor Activities; Sport, Fitness and Personal Training; Sporting Excellence and Performance; Sports Coaching and Development; QCF Sport and Exercise Science) we are only able to consider an application from you if you are also studying an A level in one of our required A Level subjects.

We will also consider the 1 and 2-A Level equivalent sized variants of the vocational qualifications listed above, when combined with A Levels, including at least one required A Level subject:

Preferred BTEC or CTEC Diploma + 1 required A Level = DD+A

Other BTEC or CTEC Diploma + 1 required A Level = D*D*+A

Applicants are usually selected solely on the basis of their UCAS application. If applicants are made an offer of a place, they will be invited to visit the department giving them the opportunity to meet staff and students, see facilities and get an insight into what it is like to be a student at Loughborough.

Many of our courses receive a large number of applications for each available place.  We cannot unfortunately always make offers to all applicants who are predicted to achieve/have achieved grades in line with our advertised typical offers.

UK tuition fees align with the applicable fee caps set by the UK government, and as such they are subject to changes made to the agreed cap in a specific year. Tuition fees are reviewed annually by the University and are likely to increase to take into account inflationary pressures. Fees for 2026-27 entry are to be confirmed.

Tuition fees cover the cost of your teaching, assessment and operating University facilities such as the library, IT equipment and other support services. University fees and charges can be paid in advance and there are several methods of payment, including online payments and payment by instalment.

While the cost of your tuition covers lots of things, it doesn』t cover everything. For instance this course doesn』t cover the cost of any stationary, printing, books or re-assessments which you might need.

This degree will prepare you for employment in a range of graduate roles in coaching, sport, exercise, health and wellbeing. It will also prepare you for further training in physical education teacher training, coaching, strength and conditioning, exercise physiology, sport psychology, personal training, and more.

Graduates are also able to progress onto the Physical Education PGCE at Loughborough University– rated outstanding in our last four Ofsted inspections – setting you up for a career as a PE teacher in secondary education.

The emphasis on transferable skills (communication, project work, organisation) also enables our graduates to enter a wide variety of graduate-level positions within other sectors, including, for example, finance and management.
