Australians have less variety on their continent, and have to go much further to get to ones with different kinds of views but somewhat similar cultures; NZ would be the closest similar-but-a-bit-different destination, but has less variety than say the UK+Ireland. Australians do however like to visit places such as Bali, but that’s not a continent; they also like to vacation in Thailand, but continental Asia is pretty far away, actually.

Many of them also have relatives on these distant continents, who they like to visit.
